Melosa falls in the realm of display typefaces inspired by geometric sans-serifs contrasted against organic, fluid forms. The entire typeface is an unconventional take on classic sans, something we all know and love, but elevated — pushing the boundaries of what typographic conventions can be. The classic letterforms and straight-edged stroke endings, compliments the flowing and round-ended strokes — two vastly contrasting elements tastefully paired and balanced across the board. Like honey, the combination of thin and thick allows the strokes to melt into the overall character’s forms, playing on each of their silhouettes. Melosa’s letterset is a combination of sober sans-serif letters, as well as other letters with a hint of attitude. It’s curvy, yet straight; soft, yet bold; sweet, yet salty. As a whole, Melosa’s giving “unconventionally conventional”.
